The Saga of Jack and BobCat
These little shits are driving me insane.
In October, we took BobCat (above, right) to the vet and had him neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and had his ears treated for earmites. We just wanted to give BobCat a better life than being outside and exposed to the weather, the road, and wild animals. When we brought BobCat into the house, to my surprise, Jack (above, left) and BobCat didn’t fight as I expected. But, that only lasted about a week. Then, all hell broke loose. Every chance he got, Jack would attack BobCat. It was so stressful. We had to be on the lookout all the time. Jack finally settled a bit, but we still had to watch. At night, we locked BobCat up in the small bedroom we refer to as the cat room. All was peaceful at night with the exception of BobCat playing with his toys or kicking cat litter all over the place. But that changed…
Fast forward about a week ago, BobCat started going berserk at night in the cat room. I mean, literally tearing the room up! It sounded like he was climbing the walls and throwing himself against the door! He made so much racket, I couldn’t sleep. (I sleep in my power chair which is right next to the cat room!) I didn’t sleep for 2 nights because of this so the 3rd night, I threw BobCat outside. It was finally quiet. But that didn’t last either.
After a few hours BobCat was throwing himself against the front door wanting in. I tried to ignore the noise. When he didn’t get any response, he went around to the window, then the next window, and so on. Then he was back at the front door. Holy crap.
The next night, I just let BobCat run loose in the house. I told him, “If Jack kicks your ass, it’s your own damn fault.” Things were peaceful with a few exceptions. As long as BobCat stayed in my chair (on me) or in Dad’s chair, then Jack ignored him. But as soon as BobCat decided to get up and play, eat, or use the litter box, Jack decided to give him a hard time. So, I’m losing sleep every night.
Oh my gosh, I am so exhausted! I can’t function without sleep. Having chronic pain and mobility issues is bad enough! I just can’t take much more. I’m at the point where I’m ready to find BobCat a new home and that makes me sad.
Last night, I guess I was so exhausted I fell asleep fast and slept hard. I didn’t wake up until almost 9am this morning. I feel so much better! With body and mind rested, I can function somewhat…and that’s still not much considering my pain and mobility issues never go away.
I don’t know how many times Jack (above, left) kicked BobCat’s (above, right) ass last night, if at all, but they are both still alive and well. I would ask them, but I’m sure they won’t answer.
Another Mass Shooting in the US – Michigan State University/Berkey Hall
Another mass shooting in the US. 5 injured, 3 killed at Michigan State University. Unbelievable. But yet believable. Just because we have the right to own firearms doesn’t mean everyone should have them. Some folks just aren’t responsible enough, some have mental illnesses, some…well, some have bad intentions. Some don’t have problem solving skills. Ugh.
There are far too many deaths and injuries in this country (USA) by gun violence. Not counting suicides or accidents, mass shootings are more prevalent than you might think. Some are not reported by the media – if they were then there would be at least one reported almost every day!
A mass shooting as defined by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA) is 4 or more shot or killed, not including the shooter. Do you know how many mass shootings there have been just in January of this year? Take a look below:

Still think there’s no problem?
Think of all the innocent people, young and old alike, who have been killed. Those who should still be enjoying their lives, loving their families, laughing, vacationing, etc.. who are no longer able to do so. It’s depressing. It’s frightening! It could happen to any of us. You could be at your local grocery store or Walmart, or your kids could be at school when in comes a guy with a firearm.
Some people think carrying a firearm will protect them. They think a “good guy with a gun will stop the bad guy with a gun.” Ha. Seriously? How the hell do you distinguish between a good guy and a bad guy if they’re all shooting guns? If you’re in Walmart, for example, and there’s an active shooter. You can’t see him so you don’t know exactly where he is in the store. All of a sudden, you see a guy with a gun. He’s actually a good guy trying to stop the bad guy but you don’t know that. You think he’s the bad guy! You pull your firearm and shoot him. You’ve just killed the good guy. See what I mean? When the police come in they shoot you because you have a gun. They don’t know who’s who either.
I don’t claim to know the solution to this problem but I do know that something needs to be done. I think we can do better. We need to put aside the mentality of “it’s my right” and do what’s right instead. Anything we do that reduces deaths and injuries by firearms is a step in the right direction.
Dear Mr…..

Dear Mr. Butt Crack Guy,
We came to our favorite Mexican restaurant to sit down and enjoy a good, hot bowl of tortilla soup. We did NOT come here to view your butt crack, but there you were, across from us at the bar with your rear end greeting us.
It would be nice if you’d just pull up your pants, or here’s a thought: Buy pants that fit better. Maybe that way you won’t disgust people while they are eating their lunch. You might think you’re all that but trust me, you look like a knuckle-dragging blob of a middle-aged slob and I’m thankful I wasn’t close enough to smell you because I’m sure that unpleasantry was just like that of your butt crack.
Sincerely,
Disgusted Patrons of El Chico Cafe
