Friday’s Funnies – My Faves This Week

Good Morning! I hope you are all doing well. I’ve been MIA quite a bit lately. It’s so very difficult to write anything these days. There’s much going on with me…and my Dad. I keep trying to get my mojo back but it’s not working! I am trying once again to get motivated and back to my blog. It’s been a long time since I posted Friday’s Funnies so I figured what better place to start! I hope you enjoy this collection of funnies!

So, do you have a favorite? Or maybe more than one favorite? I can’t help but literally crack up when I see those dolls (the last meme) because they remind me of my sisters. No, they don’t look like my sisters (hahaha) but my sisters made their dolls make funny faces by smooshing the faces in and it always made me laugh! So, that meme is my favorite. Atticus and Schrodinger’s Cockatoo aren’t too far behind!

I hope you all are doing well and staying out of the hospital. Please stay safe and be kind to others. That’s about all we can do these days. This pandemic has brought out the worst in people and it’s very disheartening. I can’t help but wonder; why the hell can’t we pull together as a nation like we did after September 11, 2001?

Friday’s Funnies – Theme – Too Hot To Live!

Well, here it is, Friday with August a day away. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Winter. Most of you are probably thinking I’m nuts because Fall is right around the corner! Other than the nights cooling down, it’s still too hot for me in the Fall. At least in the Winter you can wear more clothing and use more blankets. In the summer, you can only take off so much clothing before someone calls the cops. Snort!

It is the hot, hot weather that has prompted me to do a Friday’s Funnies Theme – Too Hot To Live! I hope you enjoy this collection! Be sure to comment your faves below!

Well, what do you think? My faves are still tryna apply foundation, cat lying flat on his back (because my cat Fuzzy used to lay like that), and last but not least, the Jane Austin quote! Which ones were your faves?

What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? Here, it’s hot and humid. Nearly 100 degrees every day and this week was the first week that it has not cooled down at night. We’re talking 85 degrees and very uncomfortable! The air conditioners and fans are working overtime and I had one fan die on me last night! I hope the 2 air conditioners last the rest of the season!

Friends, it’s getting bad out there again so please wear your mask, social distance, and get vaccinated. I know it’s scary, but we have got to get this virus under control if we are to ever get our lives back to normal again! I’m extremely worried about a very close friend of mine who was just diagnosed with Covid. This shit is hitting too close to home!

Have a super weekend! Please be safe and take care of yourselves!

Friday’s Funnies – My Faves This Week

It’s been weeks and weeks since I’ve posted Friday’s Funnies! I hope I haven’t lost my touch! I was thinking that next week I’d try to do a themed post and I’d welcome YOUR ideas! Whether it be dogs, cats, stupid men, blonds, birds…I welcome your suggestions! Let me know in the comments what you’d like the theme for next week’s funnies to be!

Now, on with the show! Enjoy!

Ok, that last one is perfect! Seriously, don’t even say good morning! Other than that one, I think I like the FAT CAT because it reminds me of my 20 pounder who gives me the saddest looks when I won’t share my food! Poor baby!

Which were your favorites? I hope you liked this edition of Friday’s Funnies! Remember, I’m taking suggestions for themed funnies posts!

Have a super weekend, friends! Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. If you haven’t been vaccinated, please consider it because it could save your life and the lives of those you love. It’s about common sense not politics.

Until next week,

Aunt Debbie

Throwback Thursday

I’ve been trying to think of something to write about today. But then it happened. My son came over to mow and do some much needed yard work because Goddess knows I am unable to do it and Dad shouldn’t be out in the heat.

When my favorite son was finished he was famished and I just happened to have made some homemade burritos the day before. (The last time I called him my favorite son, I was reamed a new one for playing favorites! Hello, he is my ONLY son!) While he ate I got to thinking about him as a kid, growing up and becoming a man.

He wouldn’t like his photos being seen by everyone so I decided to just share one of my chubby little one year old boy literally shoved in that little tub, and one of the two of us at his graduation!

Of course, he’s in his 30’s now, married to a lovely young lady and they have a little boy together. I’m very proud to be his mom. He just about gave me a few heart attacks growing up, but that’s normal, right?

Dad’s 59th Father’s Day

I wasn’t posting regularly in June, so I missed sharing this with you.

My Dad celebrated his 59th Father’s Day this year! I wanted to do something special; something that would represent our relationship and I think I nailed it! My cousin had sent me this old photo months ago. You can see Dad and I are both laughing/smiling and that pretty much sums up my relationship with him. We have been making each other laugh for 59 years! Dad was 25 years old in this photo and obviously, I was just a wee baby.

I have a Facebook friend who is an artist/photographer and I have seen some of her work because she shares on Facebook. She does amazing work! I decided to contact her to see if she could draw the above photo before Father’s Day and she said she could. I was thrilled!

When she finished, seeing it brought tears to my eyes. It was absolutely perfect! Take a look for yourself! She does amazing work and if you’d like to have something special drawn, look her up on Facebook. Her name is Katarzyna Cepek. You can see some of her other work there, too.

I put the drawing in an 8×10 frame and wrapped it with a pretty bow, I could barely wait to give it to him! As soon as Dad was up that morning, I gave it to him. Now, Dad is not one to show emotion so his reaction was less than my teary-eyed red face, but he definitely thought it was nicely done and he hung it up on the wall right away.

I will definitely want more drawings! In fact, Dad and I were talking just last week about getting a set of drawings of older photos that we can display on our ugly walls. And trust me, our walls are ugly!
