Betrayal

Good Morning, my friends! I hope the weekend has been kind to you all. By now most of you know that I have been through some things in my life that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Although my experiences aren’t as traumatizing as other people’s experiences, they have had a profound effect on me.

I was scanning through my Facebook feed quickly yesterday and I saw something that resonated with me. Betrayal is part of the reason my circle is so small. Sometimes, the people closest to you can hurt you the most. The fact that they choose to do so is even more hurtful. I’m sure many of you will relate to these words by Valerie Stanton as much as I did.

~~~
“Betrayal is an act that goes beyond mere disappointment or a breach of trust; it is a deliberate and intentional decision to be disloyal. When someone betrays another, they make a conscious choice to act against the interests or expectations of the person who trusted them. This calculated breach can shatter the victim’s sense of security and belief in the goodness of others.
The pain experienced by the victim of betrayal is profound and multifaceted. It’s not just the loss of trust, but also the emotional devastation that accompanies the realization that someone they believed in has consciously chosen to hurt them. This kind of pain can be overwhelming, leading to feelings of disbelief, anger, and deep sadness. The shock of betrayal often lingers, affecting the victim’s ability to trust others in the future and sometimes even altering their perception of themselves and their worth.
At this crossroads, the victim faces a crucial decision: whether to remain stuck in the pain of betrayal or to move forward. This choice is much like pulling back an arrow on a bow. Holding onto the arrow symbolizes clinging to the pain and resentment, keeping one trapped in a cycle of hurt and mistrust. Releasing the arrow, on the other hand, represents letting go of the past and allowing oneself to heal and move forward. This process of release and moving forward is not easy and requires courage and strength. It involves acknowledging the pain, processing the emotions, and ultimately choosing to not let the betrayal define one’s future. In making this choice, the victim can reclaim their power and take steps towards healing and personal growth, transforming the pain into a catalyst for resilience and renewed hope.”  ~~Valerie Stanton
Happy Caturday!
Good Morning and Happy Caturday!
I hope your day is going well so far. Since you’re on your device, have a peek at my BobCat and Alice. Jack was being a brat somewhere else instead of being on me. Dad and I had movie night last night. We watched 1951’s African Queen starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. Great movie! BobCat wasn’t sure about the jungle noises in the movie, but Alice didn’t care one bit.
Have a nice weekend!
Friday’s Funnies – My Faves This Week – August 1, 2024
Hey! I bet you didn’t expect Friday’s Funnies today! Especially since I’ve missed the last few weeks! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this collection!
So, I bet you have a fave!! Mine is definitely the “Ugly Sisters” meme. It made me laugh out loud, for sure!
I hope you stay cool and safe, and please keep your children and pets safe, too. Don’t leave them in hot cars, even with the windows down a little. There’s no excuse for leaving and forgetting about a child in your car! Put something in the back seat (if that’s where the child is) like your left shoe or your purse, so that when you get out of your car, you remember and see the child. Come on, it’s not brain surgery.
Have a super weekend, friends!
Throwback Thursday #TBT
Since I’ve been AWOL for so long, and out of practice where writing is concerned, I can’t seem to think of anything to write about. My mind is always processing something and I’m constantly bitching about something but yet, can’t seem to get anything going on paper or this blog.
I was racking my brain, and decided to go the old school route. Throwback Thursday is still a thing though, isn’t it? Well, if it isn’t it should be. Today’s throwback is a list of my favorite childhood books! It’s just a short list, don’t worry.
~~~

RUMyMother

When I was small, my favorite book was Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman. I always felt so bad for the poor little bird who was in search for his mother. Even back then I had great empathy for others.

~~~
bears
When I was a little older, I liked The Berenstain Bears by Stan and Jan Berenstain. What I think I liked the best is the bears’ little house in the tree. It was just so neat!
~~~

outsiders

Then as a pre-teen or teenager, I read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I shit you not, I read that book 14 times! If I still had my paperback copy from back then I could look on the inside of the front cover where I kept a tally of how many times I read it. I’m pretty sure it was 14 times! It was such a good book! When the movie came out, it was good but it was disappointing because the book was so much better. That’s usually how it goes though, right?

Well, there ya go. I’m sure I must have liked other books but these 3 are the ones that are the most memorable to me. What are your favorite childhood books?

Today is….

Make Fun of Donald J. Trump Day!

That’s right. Just because.

Everyone bitched about Joe Biden being too old for the Presidency. I don’t think they realized that Trump is only 3 years younger. If Biden is too old then so is Trump, in my opinion. Biden has dropped out of the race so who’s the old man now? What a shit show.

Since I have finished my cookbook, I swore I would try to write more and I had good intentions. But shit happens and I didn’t write. I thought I could at least do Friday’s Funnies but I got busy with other things several Fridays in a row. Dang it. So, to try and make up for that, I am sharing memes here today that make fun of the orange moron. I hope you find them funny. If you’re a Trump supporter you won’t find them funny and I don’t care. Y’all say Dems are snowflakes…well, I beg to differ. So, if you’re offended, too damn bad. On with today’s theme!

And on a more serious note: Y’all need to pay attention. Stop thinking in the lines of Democrat vs. Republican and start thinking about the big picture; Our Democracy. Look at what Trump has done and what he has said. Look at what he has said he will do. This sums it up quite nicely:

453250552_921727436633912_6285575832750797092_n

Don’t waste your vote on an Independent candidate who has no chance in hell of winning. Don’t waste your vote by not voting! Don’t sit back and watch a man like Donald J. Trump destroy this country because that is what he will do and already got a pretty good start at it in 2016. Trump is not a good human being and YOU ALL KNOW IT.

Ok, I’m done but I’m sure you’ll hear more from me on the subject in the future.

Enjoy the rest of your week, my friends.
