September already? I just have one thing to say about that. I’m glad the weather will start cooling down.

Here we are again, a Friday and needing a laugh or two. Yep. I could sure use a good laugh. It’s been rough. I hope your week was a calm and successful one.

This week I decided to do a themed funnies post: Comics. I used to love reading the comics page in the newspaper. I don’t even bother with a newspaper anymore. Who still does? Anyway, I happened to have a good bunch of comics saved for this post. I hope you enjoy them!

So, which ones made you laugh the most? I favor Don’t Beam Me Up Yet, Scotty as it made me laugh the most and the loudest! I think Psychic Numbers would be my second fave this week. I just wish I had time for more but maybe next time.

Happy Friday! 

I’ve been busting my butt the last couple of weeks working on my cookbook. I will be taking a couple days off because my eyes are tired and my brain is numb! I think The Little Boy & The Dead Cat, and David Bowie’s Advice are my two favorites this week! What do you think? I hope you enjoyed these funnies! 

I don’t know how you feel about this Summer weather (if you’re experiencing Summer right now, that is) but I am fed up with the heat and humidity! I am ready for Winter! No, not Fall. It’s still too dang hot for me in the Fall. I want Winter. I want to snuggle up in my electric blanket and binge-watch Netflix and Hulu shows and movies. I know what you’re thinking. I’ll probably moan and bitch about being cold come Winter. You’re probably right. The thing is, at least in the Winter you can wear more clothing and coats, and cover with as many blankets as you need to stay warm BUT in the Summer, to stay cool you can only take off so many clothes before they call the cops. Snort!

Friday’s Funnies – My Faves This Week – July 14, 2023

This week started out decent but then Tuesday one of my furbabies was sickly. It just happened. One day she was eating like a pig and the next day, she wasn’t eating much at all. She had lost some weight, and wasn’t eating, drinking, or urinating much. My first thought was her kidneys. I have already lost several cats to kidney disease and I wasn’t prepared to have to put down another of my loves. I knew I would have to do it because I wouldn’t ever want any of them to suffer…

Our wonderful vet had no appointments open this morning but agreed that if I get there at 9am sharp then they could squeeze us in between the others. A complete blood count was done, and after what seemed an eternity, he came back with the results. Her kidneys were fine. Her liver was fine. Her white blood count was high, which he said normally means an infection…frequently it’s a UTI. So he gave her IV fluids and a long-lasting antibiotic injection, plus a steroid injection. We are home now and she already looks better and has eaten some of her favorite “Lickables” in a pouch.

Anyway, I thought I was going to lose her kidney disease and would be in no mood for today’s funnies, but here I am! I’m ready and willing and so very relieved to not have lost another of my furbabies! On with the funnies because that’s what you came for, right?!

Ok, I am exhausted, mentally and physically. Time to take a good nap. I hope these funnies aren’t repeats. I forgot to delete last week’s off my phone and laptop so I got a little confused! Well, the Crocheted Frogs and Singles Ad are by far my faves this week! I hope this week’s collection has made you laugh! We all need to laugh, especially at the end of the week!

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE DON’T LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN OR PETS IN YOUR HOT CAR!!!  Yes, I was screaming at you! It is unbelievable that anyone could do such a thing but it happens every damn summer! Please. Do something that will remind you. Take off your shoe and put it in the backseat before you drive off. You’ll remember your shoe, won’t you? Lecture over. Sorry. It just makes me so sad when it happens.
