Earworm – Under Your Scars

This past few weeks I’ve been hearing a new song on Sirius XM by Godsmack and I really love it. It’s called “Under Your Scars.” I’ve liked Godsmack for a long time now but haven’t enjoyed any of their songs nearly as much as their hit “Voodoo.” (Until now.) “Voodoo” has a ‘witchy’ vibe (lead singer Sully Erna is a practicing Wiccan) and the drums are spectacular! Check that one out when you have a chance.

Godsmack has been around for a little over 2 decades now. They have a new album out and I like the new songs I’ve heard so far but this one really hits me in the feels, as they say. It’s been stuck in my mind since the moment I rolled out of bed this morning.

 

Ok, so now I have to share “Voodoo” with you because I had to go watch the video!

 

Ok, I can just imagine what’s going on inside your mind right now! They are not Devil worshippers. The Devil is a Christian concept and has no place in Wicca.

I have been in a pissy mood all day. Seems like everything just rubs me the wrong damn way. I woke up in severe pain, that didn’t help. I couldn’t even reposition without being in agony. I just got up and started the day. It wasn’t early, but it was early for me, considering I didn’t go to bed until after 2am. Oh well. Getting up a little early won’t kill me. After a couple hours, I wished it would.

I tried to improve my mood with a little reading and then I did some piece work on my grandson’s blanket. That wasn’t helping much. I tried to do some writing but everything I wasn’t happy with anything I typed. So, I put on some music.

I tried some pop/rock and then my go-to playlist but what helped boost my mood were the darker, angrier, pissed off songs. Go figure. I thought I would share a few with you so here goes:

At around 6am, I woke up with this song in my head. Not sure why. I haven’t heard it in ages. I think there’s a commercial on tv that uses part of the song but it’s been a while since I’ve even heard that. Anyway, from 6am until even NOW, this song is still stuck in my head. I don’t dislike it but would rather have something with big guitars stuck, thank you very much.

What is an earworm, you ask?

It’s a tune or song that gets stuck in your brain! It’s that song that’s playing in your head as soon as you wake up in the morning and plays all day long. Sometimes it’s a good song or tune but sometimes it’s awful and drives you bonkers.

Don’t ask me why, but I woke up singing this song! Who am I kidding? I’m still singing it! I used to listen to Roger Miller when I was a kid and enjoyed his songs. They were very entertaining and well, I was a kid and I listened to what my parents listened to.
