Schmuck of The Week

Schmuck

Oh, boy. What a conundrum. How do you choose just ONE moron when there’s an entire box of them? And just since last week’s Schmuck of The Week award! Holy crap.

Well, I’m pretty sure every person on the list this week is extremely deserving so how the hell do I choose? Maybe all 5 should get the award. You be the judge.

Trump White House Aide, Peter Navarro, admitted the plot to steal the 2020 election. He gave names of those who were part of the plan, he explained the method, play by play, AND he did it all on national television. The schmuck doesn’t even know how dumb he is!

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently asked, “Now think about it. Before Covid did anyone go out and seek testing to determine if they were sick? It’s usually you feel like you’re sick and you get tested to determine what you maybe have come down with.” Seriously? “Usually” was before Covid. NOW is Covid. Covid can be deadly, especially for those who are immunocompromised or unvaccinated. This guy is more than just a schmuck. He’s an ignorant schmuck.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, called the Jan. 6 attack “a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol” but when Tucker Carlson (Fox tv news host) read him the riot act, Cruz backtracked his comments by saying he was referring only to the rioters who attacked police during the breach of the Capitol. Grow a pair, you schmuck! Those rioters were out for blood! They wanted to “hang Mike Pence” and were looking specifically for “that bitch” Pelosi. If they had had the chance, they would have attacked and killed more than just police officers.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, recently slammed the President for failing to end the pandemic. I couldn’t believe my ears! The GOP has spent months and months fighting and blocking mask ordinances and vaccine mandates; the very things that could possibly end the pandemic. Tell me again who’s responsible for failing to end it? OH, and why the hell haven’t you blamed your idiot orange leader? He could have ended the pandemic before Biden took over. A giant schmuck, is what you are!

The last schmuck on the list this week is Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. First, what the fuck does an ophthalmologist know about infectious diseases? He has a lot of nerve verbally attacking Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been protecting this country from infectious diseases for almost 40 years. Or have these people forgotten about the HIV or Ebola crises? Dr. Fauci was right about funds being collected on Senator Rand’s website, that appear to be for the firing of Dr. Fauci. I call bullshit. Those funds are to feed Rand’s bank account and his big dumb-fucking ego. These people who verbally attack Fauci are absolutely responsible for the crazies out there who have threatened the lives of Fauci and his family. There is no excuse!

So, who would you choose for the Schmuck of The Week award? There seems to be a never-ending supply of them!

What’s Eating Aunt Debbie?

Like so many of you, I have too much on my mind and I’m suffering from insomnia. I’m lucky if I sleep 6 hours once a week! Last month, I had slept 5 nights of 6 hours or more. All other nights were 4 hours or less. No lie. Yes, I have been keeping track so I have something to show my NP on my next visit.

So, you may be wondering what’s been bothering me? Maybe the same things that are bothering you! And I’m going to say right now up front and without hesitation, this blog is based on MY life, MY feelings and MY opinions. If you don’t agree that’s your prerogative but if you can’t be respectful then don’t fucking comment!

COVID. Yes, the topic that everyone is sick of. But being sick of hearing about it isn’t going to make it go away! Making it go away will be a joint effort of everyone and I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Some people think it’s all about them and their personal freedom. Guess what? It’s not about the individual. It’s about the entire country; your state, your community. If you don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, then don’t. I just pray that COVID skips your dumb ass and that you don’t infect your children, grandchildren, elderly parents, siblings, or the innocent immune-compromised shopper that you infected as you sneezed while in the produce aisle, because you don’t seem to care about those people when you refuse to wear a mask. Thankfully, the number of deaths have gone down BUT I’m pretty sure we’ll have another surge eventually. Not enough folks want to get the vaccine to help stop the virus and at the very least, won’t wear a mask because they think masks don’t work or it violates their freedom. Pfftt…

I just don’t get it. The mentality.

Masks work. If they didn’t then there would be no need for your dentist to wear a mask while bent over your open mouth. If masks didn’t work then there would be no reason for surgeons to wear one while removing your gallbladder or doing open-heart surgery. Duh.

Vaccines save lives, too. Think about polio, pertussis, measles, mumps and many other communicable diseases that have been nearly eliminated. Are there risks involved in getting one of the COVID vaccines? Of course there is, just as there are risks getting any vaccine or taking any medication. The benefit outweighs the risk! I think some people would prefer to be ignorant of facts and science. UGH.

Some people are nuts. Seriously. They refuse the vaccine because they “don’t know what’s in it.” Come on. Give me a break! You don’t know what’s in that McRib sandwhich, Nacho flavored Doritos, or numerous other products either but you consume them like they’re the best thing under the sun. If you get sick with strep throat, the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic. You don’t refuse that, either, do you? You don’t know what’s in it. Why do you take it?

All of this crap is just exhausting. No one seems to want to do the right thing anymore. People are hateful for no reason. Behaving badly seems to be the new normal. It seems people don’t have a problem being UGLY to each other.

So, I stay home. I don’t venture out for much these days. I go to appointments and pick up a few groceries now and again. Mostly I use pick up services and drive up windows. I have very little use for most humans anymore.

Got My Fauci Ouchie

Go ahead. Call me a sheep. If I’m a sheep because I listen to SCIENTISTS rather than Fox News, then so be it.

I heard the Covid Vaccine being referred to as the “Fauci Ouchie” the other day and I thought that was quite clever! I got my “Fauci Ouchie” this afternoon. I wish it had been a drive through vaccine clinic like when Dad got both of his but it was a walk-in and sit clinic instead. Ugh. It was at the health department and being a small community, the building and parking facilities were also small. I had to park too far away considering how high my pain level was today. Then there wasn’t enough room inside the building so they gave a me a fold up chair and sat me outside with a couple other people. It was hard to get down on and to get back off of but I managed. I got my vaccine quickly but had to wait 15 minutes so they could keep an eye on me. The only thing wrong with me is that I had to pee. Damn medications!

Next month, I’ll get vaccine #2. When the waiting period is over, the first thing I’m going to do is get a haircut!! It has been over a year since I last had it cut (other than me butchering my bangs) and I’m sick of this long, stringy crap! For most of my life I kept my hair long but in the last few years I went shorter and shorter. By the time Covid hit, I had been used to wearing a short style. Now, I’m wearing a pony tail and it drives me absolutely bonkers!

After my haircut, we will be making plans to go out and enjoy a nice meal in a nice comfy restaurant. I told Dad today, “What if we’ve forgotten how to behave in a restaurant?” We just laughed and laughed!
