The Tool of the Week award goes to Mr. Ted Cruz.

Last weekend, Big Bird tweeted: 

“I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy,” and Ted Cruz lost his damn mind! 

Ted Cruz responds, “Government propaganda…for your 5 year old!” 

Sorry, Ted. If it’s true then it’s not propaganda. Follow the science! Big Bird and Sesame Street have been helping kids understand things since November 10, 1969 and Big Bird has been there all along. Vaccines are nothing new to Big Bird: 

High profile figures have been involved in campaigns to encourage people to get vaccinated for a long time. Elvis Presley encouraged people to get the polio vaccine in 1956. In 1988, Roald Dahl, author of children’s books, advocated for the measles vaccine because he lost his daughter to measles in 1962.   

Why attack Big Bird? Wouldn’t it make better sense to take your argument to the makers of Sesame Street? The producers or writers, perhaps? Big Bird is a muppet, for crying out loud! When you attack a beloved children’s character, you’d better believe people are going to make fun of your dumb ass. The Late Show hits back with:

Like so many of you, I have too much on my mind and I’m suffering from insomnia. I’m lucky if I sleep 6 hours once a week! Last month, I had slept 5 nights of 6 hours or more. All other nights were 4 hours or less. No lie. Yes, I have been keeping track so I have something to show my NP on my next visit.

So, you may be wondering what’s been bothering me? Maybe the same things that are bothering you! And I’m going to say right now up front and without hesitation, this blog is based on MY life, MY feelings and MY opinions. If you don’t agree that’s your prerogative but if you can’t be respectful then don’t fucking comment!

COVID. Yes, the topic that everyone is sick of. But being sick of hearing about it isn’t going to make it go away! Making it go away will be a joint effort of everyone and I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Some people think it’s all about them and their personal freedom. Guess what? It’s not about the individual. It’s about the entire country; your state, your community. If you don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, then don’t. I just pray that COVID skips your dumb ass and that you don’t infect your children, grandchildren, elderly parents, siblings, or the innocent immune-compromised shopper that you infected as you sneezed while in the produce aisle, because you don’t seem to care about those people when you refuse to wear a mask. Thankfully, the number of deaths have gone down BUT I’m pretty sure we’ll have another surge eventually. Not enough folks want to get the vaccine to help stop the virus and at the very least, won’t wear a mask because they think masks don’t work or it violates their freedom. Pfftt…

I just don’t get it. The mentality.

Masks work. If they didn’t then there would be no need for your dentist to wear a mask while bent over your open mouth. If masks didn’t work then there would be no reason for surgeons to wear one while removing your gallbladder or doing open-heart surgery. Duh.

Vaccines save lives, too. Think about polio, pertussis, measles, mumps and many other communicable diseases that have been nearly eliminated. Are there risks involved in getting one of the COVID vaccines? Of course there is, just as there are risks getting any vaccine or taking any medication. The benefit outweighs the risk! I think some people would prefer to be ignorant of facts and science. UGH.

Some people are nuts. Seriously. They refuse the vaccine because they “don’t know what’s in it.” Come on. Give me a break! You don’t know what’s in that McRib sandwhich, Nacho flavored Doritos, or numerous other products either but you consume them like they’re the best thing under the sun. If you get sick with strep throat, the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic. You don’t refuse that, either, do you? You don’t know what’s in it. Why do you take it?

All of this crap is just exhausting. No one seems to want to do the right thing anymore. People are hateful for no reason. Behaving badly seems to be the new normal. It seems people don’t have a problem being UGLY to each other.

So, I stay home. I don’t venture out for much these days. I go to appointments and pick up a few groceries now and again. Mostly I use pick up services and drive up windows. I have very little use for most humans anymore.

There’s a lot on my mind lately. Personal issues, of course, are always on my mind. But there are many other issues that really get my blood boiling! 

“My Body, My Choice” seems to be the go-to slogan for those opposed to mask wearing and vaccines, but when it comes to women having autonomy over their own bodies, that slogan doesn’t apply. Such hypocrisy!

I don’t believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. However, no female should be forced into having a child that was forced upon her; the result of a rape. And why shouldn’t a woman (with her partner, if applicable) be able to terminate a pregnancy that isn’t viable for some reason, like in a tubal pregnancy? There are many circumstances that can result in the death of the woman. Why isn’t her life important? Women should have autonomy over their own bodies! If you don’t believe in abortion, then don’t get one but don’t go pushing your damn beliefs on others!!

Anti-Vaxxers and Anti-Maskers where the hell do you get off harassing others for getting the vaccine or wearing masks? If you have the right to choose for yourself, then others should have the same right, even if that choice is different than yours!!! STOP making asses of yourselves and mind your own business!

I just don’t know what’s wrong with some people! Why would people go into businesses, such as restaurants, drug stores, and airports, screaming and yelling at the employees? It doesn’t matter the reason. So what if they’re too slow or if they ask you to wear a mask. The employees are doing the best they can, perhaps working with less staff than normal, and they aren’t the ones who have ordered the mandates. STOP making things more difficult for them! They’re just doing their job. Here’s a solution: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEIR PRACTICES!

Let’s not forget the protestors harassing women and children walking to and from school! It is NOT child abuse to get your children vaccinated! Vaccines save lives. Do a little research and you’ll see how many lives have been saved from diseases like polio, measles, rubella, pertussis, etc. over the past decades! If you don’t want to vaccinate YOUR children from Covid-19, then that’s on YOU if your child becomes ill and dies. THAT would be YOUR fault and THAT would be child abuse, IMO!

Do I sound angry? You bet your ass I’m angry. I’m sick and tired of people behaving like spoiled rotten children. I’m saddened at what the future of the United States looks like. I grew up with a great love and respect for this country and I still love my country, but I am totally ashamed and disgusted with some people, hypocrisy, and hatefulness that seems to have swallowed us whole.

Oh, so many things are eating at me these days. It seems the state of this country is in the toilet. Everything is such a mess! It’s exhausting and I know I’m not alone in feeling the way I do. Here’s a quick run-down of What’s Eating Aunt Debbie:

  1. You’d think the damn police would be on their best behavior these days and following procedure, to-the-letter, to protect themselves and their department from bad publicity and lawsuits. But no. More police shootings occur. More wrongful deaths happen. Unnecessary violent treatment on routine traffic stops. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! You don’t need to draw your gun on a routine traffic stop. You don’t need to shoot an unarmed person! There is no need for excessive force when you’ve already got the suspect on the ground and handcuffed! You do NOT need to shoot a man in the back!
  2. Joel Greenberg, Seminole County, FL tax collector faces a total of 33 federal charges…including sex trafficking, fraud, and bribery. What the hell is wrong with people these days? Give them an inch, they take a mile. LOCK HIM UP! What scumbag will have that position next?
  3. Matt Gaetz. Where to start? The investigation into Greenberg led the feds to Matt Gaetz, who faces charges of sex trafficking and sex with a minor. Gaetz reportedly asked then-President Trump for a blanket pardon. Who the hell does that? Requesting a blanket pardon tells me all I need to know about someone. Another scumbag in politics. LOCK HIM UP! 
  4. Many people, when asked why they have a problem with the LGBTQ Community, they will say, “that way of life is against my religion.” That’s ridiculous. Their lifestyle doesn’t have a damn thing to do with you. If GOD thinks it’s a problem then let GOD take care of it! Here’s a thought: If God created everyone, then he also created every single gay, lesbian, trans etc., person in the world. Maybe God created them the way they are. Maybe it’s all a part of God’s plan. Maybe God is trying to teach us all something! Pay attention!

Well, that sums up the bullshit that’s clouding my brain this this time around. I’m sure more will come next week! What’s eating you these days?

How Stupid Can They Get?

I’ve heard some absolutely ignorant things before and I just can’t keep it bottled up anymore! It amazes me how stupid people, commercials, politicians, etc., can be and I’ve decided to make lists here periodically, maybe weekly at the rate these morons are going! So, let’s see how many people I can piss off, shall we?

  1. Regarding Dr. Seuss….Dr. Seuss was NOT cancelled! I wish people would actually read and try to comprehend what they’re reading for once. The publisher, NOT Joe Biden, has pulled 6 titles (titles most of us are unfamiliar with) for racial images that are offensive. The publisher has decided that those books would not be printed anymore. There are still dozens of Dr. Seuss books for you to choose from, in book stores and libraries everywhere, so just stop being stupid!
  2. Ron Johnson…Those rioters on Jan. 6 “were Patriots and were people that loved this country,” he says. Give me a break! Patriots would not have tried to overturn the vote. Patriots would not have attacked this country’s Capitol. Patriots would not have threatened the lives of our elected lawmakers and the Vice President. He says, “and if those tens of thousands of rioters were Black Lives Matter and Antifa protestors, I might have been a little concerned.” Umm… Those rioters whom he called Patriots, battered police with a multitude of weapons: metal flagpoles, baseball bats, wrenches and clubs, and guns, bombs, stun guns and other weapons were also seized. He didn’t feel threatened? He goes on to say that those rioters “love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, and so I wasn’t concerned…” They respect law enforcement? Really? They wouldn’t do anything to break the law? What fucking planet is this guy from?
  3. Ted Cruz…So, while his constituents and fellow Texans are without power, water, and heat Ted Cruz packs his bags and heads to Cancun for a vacay with his family because their house is “freezing”! Then he tries to cover by saying he was being a good dad. He could have been a good dad by sending his family to Cancun and a good leader by staying to help the people of Texas. He says he was coming right back. Liar, liar. Pants on fire. Do these politicians think we the people of this great country are that stupid? Well, apparently some are but I digress.
  4. Lindsey Graham…Graham says migrant children “are children today but could easily be terrorists tomorrow.” HIS orange leader and his followers attempted a coup of the US government, which resulted in the deaths of at least 4 people, and threatening the lives of elected officials and Graham deflects the blame to poor, tired and ill treated immigrant children? Put a sock in it, you old douchebag.
  5. Hate Crimes against Asian Americans….There’s a special place in hell for people who are blaming Asian Americans for the Coronavirus! Just because that idiot 45 called it the “China virus” does not mean it’s the fault of Asian Americans. Just stop being assholes, please. Stop the violence against these Americans who had nothing to do with the virus in any way, shape, or form!
  6. Black Lives Matter…. For those who still don’t get it, ALL lives won’t matter until BLACK lives matter. Stop the stupidity!
  7. Progressive Insurance…Please discontinue the stupid ass commercial with the half-human half-motorcycle!! It’s not funny. It’s not even slightly amusing. And it makes absolutely no sense. You think it sells your insurance? I’d buy any insurance before I’d buy yours. Just stop.

So, there’s my list for this time around. At the rate things are going I’ll be making a list every damn day. Now, before any of you Republicans jump down my throat because I’m a Democrat and bashing Republicans, tell your fine leaders to think before they speak and we won’t have a problem.
