10 Things…

10 Things About Me You Probably Don’t Know

  1. When I was in the 5th grade, my class had a pet guinea pig that had 5 babies. Our class had a drawing to see which 5 kids got to take one home. I was one of those kids. I named my guinea pig Snorky.
  2. I am an introvert. I do well in one-on-one situations, but put me in a room with more than one person, and I am a social misfit.
  3. I never liked coffee until I was 40 years old.
  4. I bitch and complain a lot. If you had chronic pain and mobility issues, you’d bitch and complain, too. It’s a struggle to do anything, so when things aren’t going like they should, I bitch and swear like a sailor, and it actually releases a lot of frustration!
  5. When I was little, I wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. I admired Nurse Nancy at the pediatrician’s office. She was pretty and very nice.
  6. I also wanted to be like “Angelique” from the old TV show Dark Shadows. She was beautiful and wicked.
  7. I used to collect music boxes. My kids moved in and out of the house with their kids so many times, I’ve lost track of where I stashed them.
  8. I despise games that require more than one person. My mom used to throw temper tantrums because she always thought the other players were cheating. So, she basically ruined games for me.
  9. I sometimes wish I were still 16 years old and first discovering backpacking with my Dad.
  10. I started watching soaps when I was a little girl. I would play while my mom watched General Hospital. I still watch it today!

Did you know any of those things about me? Well, now you do. I hope this beautiful Monday is being kind to you.

Until next time,

  1. Interesting get to know you a bit better.
    P.s
I used spend sometime at my aunt and uncle over summer and my aunt religiously watched General Hosputal everyday after lunch, and me with her while there🥰

  2. You’d love playing games with me. I tend to collaborate more than compete. In one Scrabble game with my brother, he played a word with an “o” that crossed another word at the letter “o”, making a double “o”. I pointed out that if he shifted his word so his “o” was in front of the original “o” instead of after it, his first letter would be on a “Triple Word” space. I just love to see massive word scores even if they aren’t mine!

  4. I forgot that you watched GH! I thought it was just Y&R you watched. I’ll have to message you some questions about what you think about certain situations going on in GH lately.

  5. OMG! Dark Shadows was always on, my mom was a faithful fan. One of the reasons I was so excited last year when I ran across some old trading cards from the 60s for the show. And in the batch of 16 cards I bought… there was a Barnabas Collins! I remember mom had a paperback book with pictures from the show and I would go out to the book shelf and often look at the pictures. I wonder if that paperback is still in a box somewhere? I should look and see if it is streaming somewhere… I remember very little except Jonathan Frid was a cool vampire! Otherwise we were a CBS soaps family. Still miss the canceled Guiding Light (my FAVE) and As The World Turns.

    • I loved Dark Shadows and thought Barnabas was cool, too. I have watched the entire series a couple of times now and it’s so silly at times. I have to laugh now but back in the day, it was the best thing since sliced bread. Lol. According to my mom, I was having nightmares as a kid so she wouldn’t let me watch DS anymore. I was so sad. I knew all along I wasn’t having nightmares because wouldn’t I remember having them? Maybe not what they were about but I’d surely remember being terrified in my sleep, or waking up terrified. If you still have that card, it may be worth a little. Who knows? That’s so cool! I watched As The World Turns for a bit when one of my other shows were canceled. It was pretty good!
