I used to walk a mile or more almost every single day. When I started having problems with my legs my doctor was no help. I still tried to walk. It seemed like it made my legs worse and since I didn’t know what was wrong, I thought walking might be making it worse so I stopped walking altogether.
Fast forward about 5 years I finally got a diagnosis of severe arthritis and bone-on-bone damage in my knees. If I had found out sooner I could have delayed this condition I’m in at the moment. For the last 13 years, I’ve been dealing with mobility issues and pain.
I wish I could walk…without crutches…without pain.

Has your doctor talked about knee replacement surgery yet? I know a couple of people it really helped.

I’ve needed knee replacements for over 10 years but all the specialists focus on my weight. It’s not like I weight over 300 lbs for crying out loud. I know I need to lose weight but geez, overweight people get surgeries too, don’t they?
After I was fat-shamed by one doctor I lost 60 lbs but that still wasn’t good enough. I pretty much gave up on the issue. I couldn’t do it now even if they gave the thumbs up because I have no one to look after my Dad while I’m in the hospital and recovering at home. 😦

That really sucks! I remember both my parents being operated on when they had heavier weight on and no hesitation. Now they won’t hardly do anything if you are overweight. I wish you MANY low pain days then!

Thank you. I think my days of low pain are behind me. If I had just had a doctor 10 years ago that actually did anything to help then it might be another story.
