Dad and I were having a conversation on Saturday, about what I don’t even remember now. The phrase ‘in the neighborhood’ came up and all of a sudden this song was in my brain… It’s still stuck in my brain! It’s funny how childhood memories pop up and stick. Do you remember this song?
Here’s the way to get rid of an earworm, as learned from my chorus director: sing the tune of “The Girl from Ipanema” — but DO NOT sing the words. Somehow, it knocks out the earworm and yet doesn’t become one. I’ve been doing it for years, and it hasn’t failed me yet!
