Thoughts Today

I will be forever grateful to those who fought for our rights and freedom in this country. But I’m very worried about what is happening right under our noses. Our rights are being eroded away, slowly and methodically. Racial and religious discrimination is on the rise, as well as the inequality of opportunity. I worry for us, for our children and grandchildren, and for the future of The United States of America.

Here are just a few great quotes from a few great men that came to mind this Memorial Day. LET US NOT FORGET.

  1. Those are wonderful quotes and I must say very appropriate for today. I am very partial to the Lincoln one where he says, if we as a country fall, it is because we allowed it to happen and by our own hand. Adding to that, I’m going to quote another brilliant man, Charlie Daniels (lol) when he said “We might have done a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves, but you outside people best leave us alone. Cause we’ll all stick together and you can take that to the bank. That’s the cowboys and the hippies and the rebels and the yanks.” What can I say, I’m a sucker for a great patriotic song with a bit of a sting to it. 😎🤣

    • Thanks. I felt like posting a tribute of sorts to the fallen. Lyrics can be quite touching and yet hit hard, like you said “with a sting” lol. We have had some wise men in this country but I’m not seeing much wisdom these days. We’re headed down a terrible path, I’m afraid. 😦
